Regis University Hosts Colorado Team IMPACT Field Day with More than 75 Attendees to Showcase the Power of Team

Regis University Athletics hosted its second annual Team IMPACT Colorado Field Day on Saturday, April 13, bringing together more than 75 Team IMPACT participants and student-athletes from Regis, CU Boulder, Colorado College, University of Northern Colorado, Denver University, Colorado School of Mines, and MSU Denver for a fun-filled afternoon to celebrate community and team. With a goal of recognizing Team IMPACT’s work in the state of Colorado, the Field Day honored 27 active and 86 all-time Team IMPACT matches across these campuses and raised awareness to get more kids in the game.

Families and athletes alike enjoyed arts and crafts, snacks, games, coloring, friendship bracelets, balloon art, and more. In addition to Team IMPACT participants, families from HopeKids Colorado and Children’s Hospital Colorado were also in attendance to have fun, learn more about Team IMPACT’s life-changing work, and meet other families and athletes.

These Field Days do more than provide a day of fun for the whole family; they stand as a testament to the dedication of our matched teams and the community that comes with Team IMPACT. “Events like Colorado Field Day bring together families and teams with a shared mission of supporting Team IMPACT,” said Team IMPACT’s West Regional Director of Programs Cindy Brumfiel. “We are grateful to Regis for hosting this awesome day and to all participating schools for their dedication to our program, and we look forward to continuing to match more kids and teams across the state of Colorado.”

This event was coordinated by our dedicated Team IMPACT Fellows Liz Myotte (Regis lacrosse), Eric Casey (Regis cross country and track & field), and Abbey Glynn (CU Boulder track & field), who conceived the idea and worked with their athletic departments and Team IMPACT staff to bring it to life. “For student athletes like myself, events such as Field Day hold a special place because they bring the community together in a unique way. I appreciate the camaraderie and sense of unity that permeates during these gatherings. It’s infectious!” said Myotte. “It is heartwarming to see matches and their families interacting with other Team IMPACT families, forming connections and sharing experiences. Field Day not only offers moments of joy and fun but also serves as a platform for fostering new friendships and support networks. It is truly rewarding to be part of something bigger than ourselves, where everyone comes together to create lasting memories and friendships.”

We are grateful to Fellows like Liz, Eric, and Abbey whose commitment to Team IMPACT is making an impact across the country and to supporters like HopeKids Colorado and Children’s Hospital Colorado for their continued support of our program.

“Thank you to everyone who made this Field Day possible,” said Brumfiel. “Days like today serve as a reminder of the power of team and the importance of community.
