Annual All In 5K Brings Together More Than 2,200 Participants To Raise Thousands for Team IMPACT

On Sunday, October 20, the Team IMPACT community came together from across the country for the second annual All In 5K. From Boston to San Diego, Philadelphia to Dallas, and countless locations in between, more than 2,200 Team IMPACT supporters walked, ran, or rolled their way to 5K, raising more than $135,000 for Team IMPACT’s life-changing work.

“We are thrilled to be hosting the second annual All In 5K with the support of our generous partners, campuses, families, and donors,” said Joe Daniels, CEO of Team IMPACT. “The All In 5K is a momentous celebration, but it’s also a critical opportunity to support our mission of pairing children with serious illnesses and disability with college sports teams. Every dollar raised helps us create lasting bonds and create transformative experiences for the child, ensuring these extraordinary kids know they’re never alone in their journey.”

At Team IMPACT, there’s no wrong way to 5K. One of Team IMPACT’s partners, Campus Apartments, fueled event hubs across the country and raised funds from employees, residents, and community members nationwide. “Our partnership with Team IMPACT has been a match made in heaven from day one, and we’re excited to be a part of such an influential event,” said Daniel Bernstein, President & Chief Investment Officer of Campus Apartments. “The All In 5K is a cornerstone of our commitment to community and compassion. This event is about raising funds, but it’s also about creating meaningful connections that empower children facing serious challenges in their everyday lives. With Team IMPACT, we are making a real difference and showing the kids they have a team behind them every step of the way.”

The All In 5K in Philadelphia, sponsored by Campus Apartments, was made extra special as it was also Justus’ Signing Day with the Penn men’s basketball team. The seven-year-old Norristown native has been a member of the team since October of 2023 and quickly became a vital part of the program. With help from the Philadelphia 76ers drumline, the Sixers Stixers, and dancers who performed at the event, the entire Penn basketball team welcomed Justus with a speech as he signed to the team in front of the historic Palestra before participating in the walk with his teammates and dozens of members of the Penn Athletics and Philadelphia community. “Having Justus’s Signing Day with the Penn men’s basketball team was a perfect way to kick off the All In Philly 5K and set the tone for the entire event,” said Josh Walker, Executive Director, Mid-Atlantic, and interim Chief Revenue Officer at Team IMPACT. “Our partners at Campus Apartments went above and beyond to give Justus a day he will not forget. Everyone in attendance got to witness the magic of Team IMPACT, and we all had a lot of fun celebrating together!”

Additionally, the first ever Dallas hub further fueled the All In magic in the South region. Dozens of supporters laced up their shoes and greased up their wheels to complete the All In 5K at Children’s Health Stadium at Prosper ISD.

In addition to the Philly and Dallas hubs, hundreds of campuses around the country hosted day-of events to celebrate the 5K. In Boston, Boston University Athletics celebrated the 5K with a Halloween-themed day, carving pumpkins and eating candy with their Team IMPACT teammates. Across the city, multiple teams at Boston College walked their 5K around the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. Seven-year-old Molly rocked her Baldwin the Eagle Halloween costume and smiled in the sun as her BC softball teammates pushed her in her stroller and walked with her around the reservoir.

In Rhode Island, supporters from around the Providence area, including student-athletes and Team IMPACT families from Brown, Johnson and Wales, Providence College, and the University of Rhode Island, gathered at the track at Brown University to celebrate community and team. More than 100 participants walked, ran, and rolled around the track, enjoyed games and activities, and celebrated Team IMPACT’s footprint across the city of Providence.

Thank you to all participants, families, student-athletes, supporters, Campus Apartments, and all those who made our second annual All In 5K a success. Though not all physically together, the Team IMPACT All In 5K unites thousands of participants on the same day in the same way working toward the same goal and supporting the same mission. This annual event emphasizes the power of team and the strength of community while serving as a reminder that when we are All In together, we all win together.
