Brianna grew up in Franklin Massachusetts, and before coming to Team IMPACT, she was a competitive figure skater and track and field athlete. She figure skated at the Skating Club of Boston until 2018, and she competed at the Division 1 level in Track and Field at Holy Cross, where she was primarily a middle/long distance runner. Brianna has spent time working at the Skating Club of Boston, where she was a Learn to Skate instructor and a camp counselor, as well as working with their Therapeutic Skating program that helps teach children and adults with learning disabilities how to skate. Getting to continue working with this group of individuals, as well as continuing her involvement with athletics is part of what made her so excited to be a part of Team IMPACT.
When she’s not working, she loves spending time with loved ones, reading, and yes—still running! One thing she did almost immediately after “retiring” from my track career was sign up for her first marathon with hopes to do many in her future!
When asked the question, “Why Team IMPACT?” Brianna said:
For the past two years, I have been lucky enough to participate in the Fellowship program as a student athlete, and the types of relationships that I saw people building, and ones I was able to build myself really made TeamIMPACT stand out as an organization I wanted to be a part of. There was something so unique and special about the ways that even the littlest things could become life changing to the kids matched with teams, as well as with the student-athletes – I know from my experience that it was one of the most transformative things I have probably ever done. It was the BEST opportunity to join the team, and I am so excited for all that is to come!
