Mike Locksley welcomed a special member of the team to Maryland camp this week. IMPACT signee Cal Taylor joined the Terrapins at practice. He helped the squad break it down.
Taylor, from Alexandria, Virginia, was 9 when he signed with the Terps last year in a special ceremony last August.
Taylor is diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis, an inflammatory disease of the muscles, skin, and blood vessels. Medicine helps stop Taylor’s immune system from attacking his muscles, but leaves him feeling weak.
Taylor signed up with Team IMPACT, a healthcare organization supporting children facing serious and chronic illnesses. Impact matches them up with a college athletic team.
During COVID-19 restrictions, Taylor spent much of his time getting to know the team through Zoom.
It’s great to see Cal out at Maryland practice!
