Women's soccer adds Team Impact player to roster

The Albion College women's soccer team is excited to announce the signing of 9-year old, Carly Skougard, to its roster.

Carly, a Charlotte native living with down syndrome and congenital heart disease, is officially the youngest player in the history of the Albion women's soccer program. As an official member of the team, she will attend games, practices and other team events when she is able.

"We are excited to add Carly to our team," said Albion head coach, Ron Rainey. She is going to be a great Brit and we look forward to seeing her grow and bring her energy to the team!"

Since 2011, Team IMPACT has matched more than 1,300 children with more than 450 colleges and universities in 46 states, reaching over 35,000 participating student-athletes. Throughout this journey, the child gains strength, camaraderie, and support while the student-athletes experience lessons of courage, resiliency, and perspective they can't learn in a classroom.

Albion women's soccer continues MIAA action on Saturday at Alma College with a 12 p.m. kickoff.
